That time again...

I can't believe it's almost been a year! It's time for the Library "Birthday Party, Auction, Fund Raiser." They are having "Cupcake Wars" again and I'm told I need to defend my title... We shall see! Last year I didn't make chocolate because I thought everyone else would. One person made chocolate, so, this year I'm making chocolate. My first thoughts are sinking a truffle in the middle and I have a frosting recipe that tastes like chocolate mousse. I might change my mind, but, wish me luck! A year has gone in a blink. Gauge, my grandson is living with us and will be 7 yrs old this month. He keeps me going and is a joy! He puts the Energizer Bunny to shame! My youngest has started college this past fall and It really hit me hard. I feel like the dad in "My big fat Greek wedding." "Why do you wanna leave me?" I did not handle it well, but I'm working on it! The furry family members are all doing well, and despite the loss of a job and bankruptcy during the past 2 or so years, we still have our house. That's all I care about because it means my "babies" have a safe home. The dog, a golden (Allie) is still as crazy... they said she would mellow with age! pfffft The turtle keeps getting bigger (I thought when you bought your child a turtle they didn't live very long!) Cupcake Queen!

Every year I participate in our Local Library fund raiser. This year was a little different, it was "Cupcake Wars." I had a lot of fun, competed against approx 25 other people, and, I won! Here's a few pictures. My grandson Gauge and the winning "lemonade cupcakes."
